English, French and Portuguese - All Levels. Spanish and German upto and including GCSE.

Hi! My name is Tamar. I am a native Portuguese speaker, and learned English by immersion, having moved to England at 8 years old. This experience sparked a lifelong interest and enthusiasm for learning languages and embracing their attached cultures, which culminated in my becoming a student mentor for lower year students of French and Spanish while I was a GCSE student. I found that I had an affinity for teaching, and that it bought me a lot of contentment to watch my students grow in confidence and ability.

Following a French A- level, I earned an Outstanding Potential award and entry into Queen Mary University, where I studied French and German. I continued to work as a tutor during this time, and also gained professional experience as a Translator/Interpreter, GCSE oral examiner and qualified TEFL teacher. These experiences have informed and expanded my methods as a tutor. 

I’m flexible and adaptable, catering to individual learning needs of students, and focus on acknowledging potential and building confidence as essential stepping stones to success.
